A very popular and likeable, local identity in Adelaide. ( And it's my 100th Post ! )
In order to minimize our litter stream, South Australia's Environment Protection Authority, years ago, introduced the container deposit legislation scheme, whereby all drink containers should be recycled and the refundable deposit paid on their return. People who benefit from the scheme may include those who may be disadvantaged or possibly in poor circumstances.
This local identity in Adelaide's Rundle Mall, is ensuring the bottle cap is ditched and that the contents are not wasted before making his way to the recycle depot with the day's catch.

I find that very sad. Who knows what was in that bottle or where it had been.
Yes, and I was astounded to see it (through the viewfinder). It was mineral water.
Makes a strong statement I feel.
Imagine that he was drinking his own water and about to toss the empty in the container. It doesn't seem so bad that way.
