What turns a young man's head?

When one walks down an Adelaide street, MUSIC may be playing in your head. But it's not until you see something like this young man's head spinning round, that you can identify the music playing in your head.
Click on the MUSIC, above, and you can read his mind.
Click on the young man and you will see why.

A second look. I liked this photograph a lot because that is what most men do. Even old ones like me. And thank you for stopping at my blog.

Monsieur le President,
A man is only as old as the woman he feels.
Your woman is obviously a little nymph !

Yes even boyfriends and husbands do it WHILE THEY'RE RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!!! GRRR. How rude. Wait til you're on your own i say. Respect.

M. Benaut what a fabulous photo! Great catch. The movement of his head, the target, it's all there, i really love it. Your best so far i reckon. You could win a DP prize if there was one, with that! FAB.

Perfect! Yep M.Benaut, you found the perfect song to your photo!

And you know what? Thanks to your link, I found right next to your Andy Wiiliam clip a vídeo of our beloved Tom Jobim in a duet with Frank Sinatra.

Oh M.Benaut, please click in this link of The girl from Ipanema, I’m sure you’ll like it.
“Tall and tan and young and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking...” that was a girl that made men turn their heads too, and the song is all about it. And she’s real, she was a girl from Rio who truly inspired Tom Jobim. Today she is a mother of 4 and I have to say she still looks very beautiful nowadays.

Tom Jobim is from about the same generation as Sergio Mendes. Do you know him? I love his songs. This is my little gift to you this weekend!

Ahah M.Benaut, great shot !!!! By the way I'm sure that this guy is watching back the red neon sign :-)

--- "machicolation" in Italian is "caditoia" (not o used but you painted it very very well. Thank you about it and about to visit my DP).

Monica,
That is just superb. A brilliant song. Did you notice Frank Sinatra smoking a cigarette during the song. At the 44 second point, he blows smoke all over Tom. Also there was a rendition by Astrud Gilberto, made in 1964. You should see all the hair styles, - cool !!! I always liked her singing it, but this clip has fairly poor sound. Nevertheless, we all became very much aware of Rio de Janeiro because of all this wonderful music. Of course, "Blame it on Rio" with Michael Caine and (I think), Katherine Ross, also whetted our appetites for your lovely city. And then there was Peter Allen - an Aussie who sung, "When my baby smiles at me, I go to Rio". I couldn't sleep, - it's nearly 3AM, this must be the reason. Thanks heaps.

Fabrizio,
Do you think he was more interested in Underground Haircutters - Waxing and Nails?
By the way I have just noticed that my Recycle Man is also in this shot, on the left, behind the head-turning boy.

Grazie per la traduzione corretta del caditoia, (machicolation). Avete fatto la buona ricerca.

Monica said...

M.Benaut I knew you would like it. I know you're familiar with the music of Sergio Mendes, I remember your post. I was asking if you know Tom Jobim also.
Jobim was a heavy smoker so I thing he didn't mind Sinatra blowing the smoke on his face!

Regarding that post about Sergio Mendes, I meant that his latest cd was not jazzy, but I know he has done something in this area.

Since you're familiar with it, I can tell you that one of my favourite singers nowadays is Bebel Gilberto, niece of Astrud Gilberto and of course daughter of Joao Gilberto.
Her music is so cool and smooth. She's based in the US and most of her songs are in English, seems the US enjoys her work a lot. She's going on tour there now and I think in Europe too.

Finally, about the hmtle link.
Try this:

(insert open bracket)a href="INSERT THE LINK YOU WANT HERE">insert the word(s) you want to underline as a link here(insert open bracket)/a(insert closed bracket)

you must follow the instructions above, leave a space where you see one (between the word 'a' and 'href') and attention on the bracket (< or >) thing.
It's a bit confusing at first but it's not really difficult.

Just noticed the bloke on the right, level with the girls; he's looking too! They must have been some lookers, either that or the front of their t-shirts were missing!

I would agree with Lynn, this shot is one of your best! I just had to laugh out loud!!!!!

THANKS FOR THE FUN

note to Lynn -- my wife always said she didn't mind whose menu I looked at as long as I ate at home!
And yes the second thing I noticed in the picture was "Underground Haircutters"!

M.Benaut said...

Lynn,
Your comment about the front of their T-shirts is probably the more correct.
Young gentlemen, and older ones, Like Gerald, M. le Président and I, most time, can not remember the colour of a young lady's T-shirt. There are far more pressing matters to consider !!!

I think Gerald's last comment puts the lid on that theory.

Great picture M. I especially like the link to Andy Williams. I miss that music and those shows. Andy, Tom Jones, Sonny and Cher just to name a few.
