Before I kick the bucket, I MUST see the Viaduct at Millau, a beautiful little town on the River Tarn in Southern France in the Aveyron Department in the Midi-Pyrénées Region.
I would rank this bridge as being one of the most beautiful modern-day structures in the world. It is the tallest cable-stayed road bridge in the world, and takes the A75 autoroute from Sévérac-le-Château to Lodève and Spain, (or Montpellier to the east). It crosses the Tarn River valley near Millau, relieving the town of much traffic, especially during summer. Reading books in Adelaide should be replaced by Summer in Millau !

G'day!!! I hope this was a Christmas present that was just opened and not a sign of this lady's boredom with the other guests at the table. I can't imagine if you and Mme B were there that anyone would want to be reading!!!!!!

Yes I too would love to see this amazing bridge.

Yes it does indeed. A great photo, M. Benaut and a yummy meal your guest isn't eating!

Jules,
A:- you are correct.
B:- You are also correct.
C:- I will be there in September and yes you WILL see it.
Just not sure if ADP can post on the run !
I guess I have been a little obsessed with it.

Lynn,
Late August we will have a clearer picture of what's to be seen and when. Can't wait !
The photo:- She was up to pussy's bow.

J'habite à une heure de Millau et je n'ai pas encore vu le viaduc. Ca me fait peur.

C'est quoi le grand cornichon? Uncornichon en français c'est un idiot :-))

I'm sorry to hear that, Marie.
One could simply walk around it ?

I was trying to say the Big Gherkin. The nickname for the new tower building in London. It was designed by Sir Norman Foster and is at 30 St Mary Axe.
The building serves as the London headquarters for Swiss Re and is informally known as "The Gherkin".
I thought that un "cornichon" was a gherkin.
I guess that "idiot" is also pretty obvious, but only after you had pointed this out to me.

*Sigh* The great places of the world I'll never see. It saddens me to think there are so many of them. I'm trusting you to give us a great coverage in September, M. Shall wait.

Don't sigh, my friend, it is us that should sigh. You have the magnificent Taktsang Monastery.
Therein lies a thousand sighs. Perhaps a sigh, is a blessing in disguise ?

In answer to your question - when I've been away before I have done a combo of "on the spot" pics from my travels, and having a pre-pared vault and leaving the button pushing to someone else. The chief button pusher will be with me on this trip, so we shall see!

M.Benaut so great to hear that you're going to France in September!!! What a wonderful time you're going to have there. Oh yes you will, there's no other possibility!

I am constantly amazed by the places you show: clear blue skies, deep blue ocean, people always getting together outdoors, kangaroos, koalas and now even whales! C'est pas mal huh?!!

Hi Mme.Benaut!!

Caro Monica, você diz sempre coisas agradáveis muito.
You always say the nicest things and your smiling face is always a pleasure to welcome, here.
I hope you can get here one day. too.

So you're coming in September? I need dates please! Where, when, and for how long???

M.Benaut said...

Hi Michael,
I knew that you would emanate before too long !!
As things are turning out, it looks like we will be in Paris about Sept 1. There are about 12 million things to see and do in Paris, (including meeting the great M. Piezack who attained the 574.8 kph !!)
It will be like re-writing the history that Monica wrote last year. I can't see how we will ever do everything that one must do in Paris.
Perhaps we should follow in your footsteps and stay for a few years.
I would love to do that and set-up the Paris branch of Adelaide DP, - with a bureau at the Oz Embassy, though I think that I would prefer to be in the neuvième, down the bottom end near the rue Amsterdam.
It's all amazing stuff. Do you reckon I could teach Eric how to speak with an Oz accent? Naturally Yanks can't be taught this fine art, n'est-ce pas?

Plus pour venir, plus tard.
