The Australian Magpie can easily be tamed.
Unlike the whale of yesterday, the Magpie is easy to feed and to play with.
This little Magpie on Kangaroo Island is eating from Geoff's hand. He is not interested in the Whale.

I like this post. I like the idea of the wildlife being relaxed around human beings who care. There are many instances where human beings do not care.

I like your whale picture too and last night on the news I saw a harpoon point they got out of an old whale that was finally killed and the point had been in the whale since the late 1800s. Did you see that?

Thanks for your visits to my blog.

If you have not seen a big ant then it might be worth seeing my post this morning.

Especially that the magpie is easier to take on the knees than the whale

Nice photo.
This bird in Europe is so shy, think it's impossible to feed it.

oui c'est certain, que d'avoir une baleine sur ces genoux cela ne doit pas etre facile ;o). tres belle photo. Je te souhaite un bon weekend

yes it is certain, to have a whale on these knees that should not be easy ;O). very beautiful photograph. I wish you a good weekend

Good to see an aussie and a magpie in such close contact without the need of an ice cream container on your head.
We've never managed to tame the maggies around here but the kookaburra's come in during summer and get fed and last summer we had a baby hawke who used to call by a fair bit to. Magic.

Hey kate, was that a baby Hawke or Bob Hawke??

Hey Rob, it was a baby hawk, I'm just spelling deficient and fried after a day working with illiterate kids. Haven't ever heard it (the bird, not the kids)going Arrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkk like Bob.
Used to be quite trippy really, you'd be out in the yard and there'd be this flapping of wings above you cause it'd be hovering there and then he'd set himself down next to you.
Bobby doing the same thing would just be scary.

loved the rely Kate, and would have loved to see that bird.
Hope you can 'unfry' over the weekend.

Bob Hawke, The Silver Bodgie, no less !!
Seems he was a South Australian; from Bordertown.
That's right Kate, and he could say, "Arrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkk" as well as the best of them.

Rob - perhaps one day i'll have the honour of writing something comment worthy on my own rambling web page.

M Benaut - how right you were, voldemort emailed me this morning.
I deleted it without even reading it.

Voldemort... ? some strange things going on here, but I'll comment about the magpie only.

How wonderful ! I've never seen magpies so close to humans before. I just LOVE THIS SHOT!
