Here at Finniss, 60 kilometres south of Adelaide the cattle are being hand-fed. Everywhere you go it's dry. There are water restrictions in the City and it's very little different in the other southern Capital cities and all the way to Brisbane. The climate patterns have changed. Perhaps the last 100 years have been the aberration with many good years. Let's hope the winter brings rain.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I prefer to show a broad cross section of things from around the city, rather than churches town halls, churches and town,,,,,, Perhaps it tells folk in remote places about the things city people do. We don't just sit in Victoria square and watch fountains.

Monsier you seem to be somewhat of a gourmet, am I right? About the dishes you asked, being that region a colder one (compared to the rest of the country), their specialty is a swiss dish called fondue, you probably know it. They offer a very good pasta too, due to the italian heritage. And also because of the gauchos (the men who deal with the cattle) that first came to that region from Argentina, the big attraction there is the barbecue. Here´s a photo of a typical gaucho

It does look dry, but I still love the image. I love farms and the living in a farm.
I am an agricultural engineer and I have known all kind of farms and country sides. Once I was given a conference in Argentina and someone in the apartments in buenos aires I had rented offered me staying the week end in his ranch, that was in the south of Buenos Aires province (Tornquist); I loved so much that region, that 5 years later I moved to that region of Argentina with my family.
