Mum loved her Strelizias.
When my mother departed Melbourne with my father in 1942, she planted her favourite Strelizia in her new garden in Adelaide. Here it is.
Tomorrow, a new family will commence to live in a house that my mother loved, and they will appreciate her favourite Strelizia Reginae.

Beautiful story; beautiful flower, Monsieur.
I'm sure its new family will love it.

How very rude of you f.o.l. Fool instead perhaps.

I love Birds of Paradise too. We will plant one in our garden, my darling.

Thanks Dive.
You could say that today was the end of an era.
I even went back late this evening after French class for a quiet moment and one last look.
A bare house but nonetheless years of memories.

Oh dear it is sad to give up a family home. I'm sure the new family will love it and care for it - just life if like that - time to move on.

I too have strelitzias in my garden - potted on the terrace and growing in the garden too.
