Up the Junction
It is now, many years since the last steam train glided powerfully through the hills of Adelaide.
In those days, families with their children would crowd on to the platform at Mount Barker Junction for an exciting train trip to the beach.
Here is "The Duke of Edinburgh" hissing into the station in the 90's.

The historical train from Montpellier to Palavas is now exhibited in Montpellier.
In Palavas there is a museum dedicated to the local train to
Montpellier.
Cf Wikipedia:"From the beginning of the 19th century, local tourists and seasonal activities were drawn to the village. When in 1872 a loal
train to and from Montpellier star
ted,seaside tourism really took of.
This train operated until 1968 and was painted by Albert Dubout"
(Yes I have your email. I'll give you my telephon number).

Wonderful, Monsieur!
And I bet it ran on time, too!

I'll have to show my grandson, age 5, your train photos. He loves trains.

Come see the great catch of the day, for me and someone else.

Truly, is there anyone who doesn't love a ride on steam-train? The sounds, smells, sights are so evocative.

I love the comparatives M.B. Those are very interesting. Now I want to steal your idea and post downtown shots old and current of my little city. I'll let you know if I ever manage ;). Have a great week!

Just love these photos. Especially the first one and the one of the train.
