The allure of the magic city of light; Paris day 1.

Paris can not be described in simple words, the city simply immerses one selfishly, in its grandeur and its magnetism.
Its aura encompasses one in a spectacle of history, culture, and a play of light, sounds and architecture.
It's a city to experience, in its Boulevards and Passages, in its layout of geometrical order and the way one can get lost in its back-streets then turn a corner and suddenly see something that takes the breath away.
It has picturesque little squares that take you from grand public spaces to green urban jewels. And there are quiet chapels, museums and monuments, all with the charm that is so delightfully Paris.

It's a traveller's delight and a photographer's challenge.

Carliene grabbed us from the Gare du Nord, (the busiest station in Europe), from The Place Napoléon III, and whished us through pretty streets pelting with activity and bustle. We travelled through the Centreville and down into the Bois de Boulogne, a park located along the western edge of the 16ème arrondissement, near Boulogne-Billancourt.

It was simply lovely. And on the Pèniche of Madame's godmother moored beside the Seine, we were home and preparing for our first "night on the town" at Chez Michel

Hello !
I see Mme and you really enjoyed the beginning of your trip in London and Paris.
After such a long travel you were very happy to be at Paris. I feel the same after driving only tow hours !!!

Fantastic. I'd like to see the Peniche too.
I just adore the bus photo. You must all click on it to see the grumpy French?man glaring at you. How dare you take his photo?

Lynn, you will definitely see the Barge, it is really hard to move faster, because Bloggggger will only permit me to show 5 photos at a time.

Hi Ian, thanks for your visit in Avignon today. It's such a joy to get those little signs from you.

I'm really enjoying your accounts of your travels - your photo with the "premier jour du reste de ta vie" was a great find - especially with the frowning man above!!!

Oh and I forgot to tell you how much I like your new profile photo - the happiest and proudest granddad there ever was!!!

That's ripper of you Nathalie, to say such a nice thing.
The little ones were at my son's wedding in The Wirral and you can see more on Mme's. blog each day.

The man on the bus was angry with me for pointing my camera at him. I continued to point until he really expressed his anger. Then I shot it, and asked for forgiveness a few days later. However, no one was listening and I wasn't forgiven.
He should read ADP and forgive me !!

I can't wait for the next pictures Mr Benaut! :)
It seems you had a wonderful time here. That's nice to see your Paris point of view. Parisian people tend to forget how beautiful the city is...Hopefully, some kind tourists come here to remind it to us!

Crikey, Lynn, this tour will take a long time. You may wish it would speed up.

Virginia, I said I would do it and you can think of it as a stimulus for your impending holiday. I hope you won't be bored !

Guille, Beaucoup de touristes vous diront que Paris est la ville la plus belle qu'ils connaissent.
Je suis certainement une personne qui dirait ceci.
Pouvez vous deviner qui sourira à nous en quelques jours ?

In a day or two, you will see that we had a couple of days over 30° in Paris, Jules.
One would think one was in Rabaul !!
