Les Châteaux de la Loire : AMBOISE : 3

Even though the day was a little rainy, at Amboise, we were fulfilled.
What we had seen and what remained to be seen was so typical of the traveller's dichotomy.

Again, it was quantity versus quality and we had not seen Leonardo di Vinci's former residence. Then, - there's always next time !

We needed to fly. And fly we did,- to Azay le Rideau, but not before taking some rooftop shots of beautiful Amboise and the Loire that lay below us.

Whenever I see places like this my first reaction is always "Sheesh! I don't mind housework but that's just silly."
Grab a duster, MB and let's get started!

In Amboise there is a place where you can visit (outside only) all the castles of Loire Valley the "mini châteaux".
All these castles are some treasures of our country.
I am glad you enjoyed to have visited some of them.

These are simply stunning photographs, Monsieur Benaut. What wonders in the Loire.

The worn stone steps in the first shot remind me of the 6 zillion I climbed to the dome of the Sacre Coeur. I am STILL out of breath a year and a half later. Will I trudge to the top this next trip. Non, monsieur, non!
