Wet feet at Encounter Bay
Encounter Bay is located about 100 k. south of Adelaide. It's name derives from the chance meeting between Captains Nicolas Baudin and Matthew Flinders on 8 April 1802 while they were mapping the newly discovered Terra Australis, for their respective countries, Great Britain and France. They were not aware that their countries were at war at the time, and they enjoyed a perfectly peaceful encounter.
Today, 206 years later, we returned to the Murray Mouth in Encounter Bay, a very peaceful and placid place on Easter Sunday.

Oh wow! That's put a smile on my face, M. Benaut. That sound of the breaking waves and the sight of them rolling over your feet i imagine, well it was special indeed. Especially as i sit looking at the cold but sunny weather outside in the UK under threat of snow! Just gorgeous, thank you! I adore this new vid feature to your blog! Happy Easter M et Mme x

Thanks Lynn, we had another great day 'à l'embouchure du Murray' with the Boat Doctor and the ladies.
We took the BBQ and sat beside the river-mouth and ate, drank, did nothing/something./anything and on the way down there, the car ran over something very interesting.
Maybe I will show you all tomorrow?

Joyeaux Pâques to everyone.

A peaceful encounter? What a dork that Flinders must have been.Even when we're not at war with the French we still hate one another with a vengeance.
They have a sunnier climate and better food and wine and we are superior in every other respect. Hee hee.

Isn't that how that song goes?

What a great post! I could listen to that all day long here in the cold, rainy Paris we are having. Thanks for this and I do hope you both had a nice Easter.
