Proudly built in South Australia

In July, the first Pontiac G8 rolled out of the Elizabeth assembly plant here in Adelaide.
The Pontiac G8 is a rear-wheel drive, six litre V8 sedan produced by General Motors to be released for the 2008 model year under the Pontiac name. The G8 will be Pontiac's first full-size car since the Bonneville; discontinued in 2005.
This Pontiac is to be followed by the Chev Impala and Camaro; 2009, and the Pontiac GTO; 2010.
Here, you can see the G8 (from Adelaide) at the recent Chicago motor show and a heap of Pontiacs and Chevys at the docks awaiting export to North America. (Like coals to Newcastle, really !!)

Wow, if it was offered to me with a pink ribbon around it, I would be perfectly happy.

Do you know to which country they are exporting these cars?

Do you have a "salon de l'auto" in Adelaide?

Oui! Marie, Ils vont en Amérique du Nord !

We are beating them at their own game.
Our economy depends on exporting, and cars are something we do well.
We export to the middle east, the Arabian States, New Zealand and many other countries.

I thing you should pay us a visit on your way to Rabaul.

Et Aussi, oui. There is the Sydney Motor show every year. This year it will be called The Australian International Motor Show and it opens in Octobre.
We have a motor show in Adelaide, too, each year, but it not so huge.

Wow something to be proud of indeed. Looks very smart.
I've found more old newspapers at Things UK by the way!

They do look like very expensive luxury sports cars. Nice photo.

Also, thanks for commenting about the jet airplanes. I am proud that you like them enough to use them as desktop wallpaper. I have two other views I could send to you if I had your email address. Only if you want to have copies.

Thanks again.

6 litre V8 .... just what the US economy needs! Very economical, I bet. After all, there's plenty of oil available. Oui?
If we run out, we'll just bomb the crap (Excuse my French!) out of someone else and take theirs! Si?
