Is this a Kangaroo?

No, it's a Wallaby. That means, any macropod that isn't large enough to be called a kangaroo and hasn't been given another name. There is no fixed dividing line. In general, a wallaby is smaller and has a stockier build than a kangaroo.
This little guy lives about 5 kilometres from our place and was friendly enough to let Mme. feed him.

Can you get me one of those and send it by mail?!

Seems so exotic to me, but probably commonplace to you! Cute little thing!!

What does he eat?

Yep, special delivery. His name will be Wally.

They are not really as prolific as one might think, so close to the city.

Ils aiment manger l'herbe. Ils sont des herbivores.

Sweet! Did he try to box you? Or is that just kangaroos?

Yey! Wally! Gotta get some herbes to feed him when he gets here.. :-)

Whee..that's a real cutie!! I can see your hand there, but how tall is he really? Australian animals are so amazingly cute!

Can you show us a Tasmanian Devil next? ;) xo

Mme was asking for a close-up of the carousel on Hyde Market.

Her wish is my command

No, he was realy tame and friendly. The Big-Red Kangas are capable of being violent but I guess some of that may be folklore.
Yours just eats grass and is a bit of a TV star! Just like Skippy.
He sure is cute, probably about 3 feet tall, max.
No way M"AAM !!!
They are fierce, only live in Tasmania: they are extinct on the Mainland.
She will love it, thank you.
Guess who's having an early night, tonight?

I can't wait to see one close :-) What is it his call / cry?

M.Benaut said...

Fanno il suono piccolo con la loro linguetta, "TSK, TSK, TSK."

Questo suono è molto calmo.

I hope I have not made a mistake !!!

Mistake? I'm afraid that your Italian it's better than mine. Grazie mille per la risposta. -- Thank you so much about your reply :-)
