Monstre du profond, encore - pour mes amis Drômois.
This little monster, - elle est une Écrevisse,- a crayfish. He/she is the friend of the Leafy Sea Dragon that you saw the other day, lolling in the tepid waters of the gulf near Wool Bay.
In Summer or anytime, one can drift around, a few metres down and see things that you would otherwise only see on a plate in a restaurant
You may think that this is the most un-appetizing dish; but wait till you eat crayfish. Oh la la ! Elle est Délicieuse!

How fabulous to see a crayfish in the water! As you say, normally on a plate and yes, how delicious. We had fresh-water crayfish when I lived in Tasmania - to die for!
Love this photo.
This is an interesting photo.
Replying to yours on Menton DP, well I know we have langouste (sp?) but not sure about ecrivisse? Langoustines? That's different again, I think?
I have found this reference, Jilly...

Your Menton shot today is brilliant. Looks like we need to visit Menton in August 08.
Crayfish? I saw your comment on jilly a while ago. I left a note there telling her we used to fish with crayfish tails when I was a boy and fished in the criks (creeks) around here. I wouldn't eat one with or without the mud vein. They were only great for fish bait. I suppose they are the identical ones that are used down in New Orleans in their recipes.
I like your photography, as usual. I also liked your post yesterday.

Looks delicious! Don't let Sascha wake up and see him/her swimming above her head. She'll reek all kinds of havoc on your blog page getting to it.
Hee Hee Michael and Dive. Sascha often tries blogging - steps all over the keyboard at times but tonight it was Felix who tried blogging 'cos Sascha is indeed fast asleep, tucked up in bed with M.B who is feeling all blogged out tonight I think and I suppose I should go and join them then perhaps we might get some work done around the property tomorrow! M.B did chainsaw some logs but I don't think I did much at all apart from shower and dress for our dinner out at Hahndorf - which was great, thank you.
Enjoy lunch and Dive, I think you should order lobster to go with your Sushi.
Oh and ham, I mean Ham ... I visited and told him that Inspector Rex told me it was his birthday! That was you wasn't it, Michael?
Thank you for this crayfish. The one I've seen was blue. And it's the first one I see with this color. Nice shot.
m benaut - I went diving today but didn't see any of these!!! Did see lion fish, bat fish, flute fish and Nemo of course. But your cray tastes much better than any of those!!!!!
Mme benaut - if you are afraid of creepy crawlies don't look at my blog today - you may need counselling afterwards or a stiff drink!!!!
