"J'ai dormi comme un rondin de bois".

"J'ai dormi comme un rondin de bois".
Une expression australienne; peut être un peu déconcertant quelquefois.
Ces rondins dorment, pendant qu'ils sont transportés à la scierie pour être coupés. Alors ils seront utilisés pour construire des maisons.

"I slept like a log".
An Australian expression, which can be a little confusing sometimes.
These logs are sleeping on the way to the saw-mill, to be cut. Then they will be used to build houses.

ForestrySA is the South Australian Government's forest management agency with 125,000 hectares of plantation and native forest in this state.
It maintains more than 20 Native Forests, and native flora and fauna within their reserves.
'ForestrySA' grows pine forests and sends the wood to mills where they are converted into timber for building house frames, floor boards, wall panelling and furniture making. Many logs are also cut up and made into wood-pulp for making paper and other wood products.

This could be a scene from our part of the world. Lots of logs.

Oooh. Nice panning blur on the left there, MB.
And I'm afraid I cannot resist using the word "woody" here.

I have a confession to make.

This shot was a screen capture. On a Mac computer, you hit apple/shift/4 and capture the image on the screen. In this case it was a shot from a documentary.

I have captured half of France in this way during the TV broadcast of the Tour de France.

I use Eye TV as my TV receiver and so receive all the Adelaide TV channels on the computer.

The shot of Lynn's floods in Tewkesbury was also captured in the same way.

In France, we say : "sleeping like a stock", not like a log.
It's always about a dead tree, isn'it ?

Gosh so you have a technique of getting shots that you can't reach! Not bad, i'd never have guessed. I knew obviously that you'd got the flood pic from somewhere, but.. then again i've been looking over my shoulder for you out on the street ever since...

Betthose logs are having nightmares about being recycled into paper to clean up after joey pup. He is responsible for deforrestation.
