William aimera voler dans Le Douglas DC-3 (Le Dakota C-47)



Le Douglas DC-3 est un avion monoplan à aile fixe équipé de deux moteurs en étoile qui eut une forte influence sur le transport aérien entre 1935 et 1950. Il fut fabriqué par Douglas Aircraft Company.
Voici VH-ABR, le troisième DC-3 à importer en l'Australie, - en 1938, par 'Australian National Airways' au coût de £32.000.
Il a été très endommagé dans un atterrissage obligatoire suivant un feu de moteur en 1948 et alors retiré en 1971 ayant volé 67224 heures en 33 ans.
Ce petit garçon aime voler dans l'armoire de bagage, afin de voir mieux de la fenêtre !

The Douglas DC-3 (also known as Dakota C-47) is a fixed wing monoplane driven by two radial engines. It had an enormous influence on air transport between 1935 and 1950 and was manufactured by the Douglas Aircraft Company.

Our little friend prefers to fly in the overhead locker. He gets a much better view.

Having flown many a time on an old DC3, I can attest to young William's good sense; the luggage racks look to be far more comfortable than the seats ever were.

Hi M B - thanks for the card. My card is on my main computer that died yesterday - HWDB pulled it apart and found cables that have worn so not as bad as we expected but am unable to send it to you until computer comes back!!! Am working off my laptop at the moment.
