Adelaide's palindrome suburb.
In the 1860's people travelled the eleven miles from Adelaide to Glenelg by steam train, but now, we have modern trams and modern restaurants, overlooking the harbour.

It looks a great place to live. Lovely to compare now and then.

Would you believe that I have NEVER taken a train anywhere? I find that sort of sad....

Wow, the photos are wonderful.

I love it here too but I have a hard time with accented letters :-))

What great photos M. Benaut. There's something about steam trains though...:)

I soooo love trains and I have vivid memories of meeting the steam train in the early wintery dawn in my jimjams when my greatgrandmother would come to visit.

I love riding in them still but it just isn't the same. Steam was the best!!!

Love the before and after photos! Would have been fun to ride the steam train (or that horse!), but a modern tram would be nice too. Plus the views now are still lovely.
