Qantas, - the flag carrier, and the pride of Australia
Aviation authorities have announced a special review of airline Qantas, after three safety scares in little more than a week.
A Qantas 767 was forced to return to Sydney on Saturday after a fluid leak.
And six days ago a plane heading from Adelaide was forced to return after a landing gear bay door failed to close.
Safety officials now say an exploding oxygen cylinder was the most likely cause of the hole in the side of the plane, which made an unscheduled detour to Manila.

Scary stuff, but I have a soft spot for Qantas. They've been going longer than just about anybody (they were founded years before our first international Empire Airline) and whenever I see a Qantas plane out of the office window in London I get a yearning to up sticks for Oz.

Woo hoo! Dive, I'm going to plaster your office windows with red tails (!) because we would love to have a new immigrant of your calibre!

Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Services.

I am one of those people who when asked to describe a car's make, will say something like "It is red and has the nicest looking leather seats."

And that is how I feel about Qantas. I have no idea what their service, etc is like...I just like that kangaroo tail...

This has been a very sad series of events for Qantas but I agree with Melanie. 1,2,3. the plane I've flown so many times with them - get on and all those charming gay stewards immediately make you feel at home. You know are on a safe airlines - and yes, once inside the cabin, you are in Australia - or so I always felt and loved, especially when I was flying home to Oz. Hope it all sorts out.

And who are you flying to Europe with, Monsieur et Madame?

Have a good air travel !
