Who wants to go to Melbourne, anyway !
This week, Tiger Airlines commenced a new air service in Australia. You can fly to Melbourne for a dollar. I don't think so; it's probably snowing in Melbourne !

Hee hee. Believe me, MB; if I could afford to spend time down under I would be knocking on your door right now!

Je pars en décembre de Paris à Dusseldorf en Allemagne chez ma soeur pour 0,01 euros, mais avec les taxes d'aéroport cela fait 29 euros.Oui cela existe avec Air Berlin.!

A$1 to Melbourne from where? Adelaide? Sounds pretty good. You're being unfair to Melbourne my friend - ye olde rivalry between capital cities ?

Thanks for the link to Sculptures by the sea, ma favourite Sydney event by far. I felt bloody nostalgic looking at the pics I can tell you. Can you fly me to Sydney for a dollar?

- But - I didn't see the little dog???

I'd go anywhere for a dollar -even Melbourne!!!

The good thing about Melbourne is if it is snowing in the morning you can bank on a heat wave at lunch and hail by dinner time.

Love the place and will be there in March next year - maybe I should book a seat on a Tiger!!!

Cough, cough - yes am still sickly - I need to find the source of the wog!!!!

Lyliane, celui est très bon marché également.
Mon fils #1 habite à München et mon fils #2 vit à Bâle.
Peut-être cela me coûtera tous des deux dollars!

Nathalie, This was just an excuse to show you something that I knew you would love.
It must break the heart a little, to part with Sydney, it's such a beautiful city. You can tell what fun I had there 2 weeks ago avec mon petit-fils.
Anyway I shall tease you a little from time to time.

When time permits, I am DYING to see la Camargue. Perhaps, like Cleopatra, you could sail down the Petit Rhône. Could we see the Étang de Vaccarès?
La France a tant de beauté naturelle !

Now, Jules, what have you done to yourself, dear?
We don't want to hear anything to do with tropical you-know-whats.
Take care and slow down, everything you do for us is worth waiting for.
I hope you've got some anti-wog stuff.
Melbourne ? Never heard of it !

I know that you know that lots of wonderful folk live in Melbourne. Perhaps a $1 to Melb is worth the adventure.

Anonymous,
You are quite right, indeed the best of my younger years were spent happily in Melbourne with a wonderful extended family of cousins, uncles and aunts. I can remember Gwen and Steve's wedding when my uncle, my mother's brother, held me on his knee. It's one of my very early memories.

Perhaps my tongue-in-cheek poor humour was misdirected and for that, I apologize. Melbourne is a stunning city; it was just a bit of interstate rivalry taken too far.
