Trappist Beer.
After a day of hard work in the garden, one generally drinks a few little beers.
One very nice beer is made by the Trappist Fathers in Soligny France, situated in the Basse normandy Region.
Soligny-la-Trappe is the location of the La Trappe Abbey, where the Cistercian Order of the Strict Observance, or Trappists was founded in 1664 by a converted courtier named Armand Jean le Bouthillier de Rancé.
Today's beer is a beer brewed at Scourmont Abbey. It has a nice taste of caramel.

I concur, Monsier B. That is a particularly nice one.
The folk up in Northern France do make some particularly splendid beers.

I used to be a wine lover and then it started to give me headaches....now I am a beer lover and this looks GREAT!! and believe it or not....after learning to like beer, the wine doesn't bother me now.....so now I can be a 2 fisted drinker if I want to be...one with wine and one with beer.....not that that would be tasty or anything!!!!

I don't drink beer, but I love a nice, clean, sparkly glass and this one works...

I can't drink that beer but I already tasted it and it is very very good. I thought it was made in Belgium. Chimay is in Belgium, isn't it?

I have tagged you :-))

Hum, hum... Chimay my friend is indeed a Trappist beer. Not exactly French as Marie pointed out... L'abbaye de Scourmont is in Chimay, Belgium. :)

Perhaps, if the Belgians spoke Belgian and not French I would not have made this silly mistake !!

Pardonnez-moi mes amis.
En tout cas, il a un très bon goût.
