The Duke of Edinburgh is at least 150 years old. But what does he lay thesedays?
This is the foundation stone of Adelaide's General Post Office in King William Street.
They don't build like that any more !

The Duke of Edinburgh these days lives just up the road from my office with some mad old German bint.
He acts as our cultural ambassador in much the same way as Sir Les Patterson does for you guys.
lol DIVE ! Watch that mouth.
He's looking pretty good for his age then...
Wow...no buried dukes in Nebraska...maybe some dinosaurs.
Beuatiful old building. Wonderful stonework.
Thanks for comments on Menton DP. I'll be taking you to a better beach than that, next August, no worries, mate!
Nice building.
That's such a lovely stone. They certainly don't build like that anymore--our post office is modeled after a famous historical building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but if it were being build today, it would look like a box of bricks.
I think he is a bit too old to lay much at all these days!!!
I'm back after another communications black-out. i've drunk all the gin and i'm heading for the bia - did ya miss me???
Jules - don't you believe it! They never stop, besides, Queenie might let him visit occasionally.
Dive: LOL at Sir Les Patterson! Some Culture. Yikes!
No cultural comment from me.
To lay or to get laid, that is the only question...
Loved your previous posts about
- the drought (do you think this comment about how many people AUstralia can sustain is a serious one or just one to justify closing down the immigration tap?)
- the Hills hoist, aaaaah the Hills hoist. THis should be one of Australia's greatest exports, it's brilliant!
- the Dalai Lama (thanks for that!)
- the cows (a fantastic piece of Australian landscape)
Coming here is always a huge pleasure. Aussie humour at its best!
Marie,
This makes my post office look rather unimpressive.
