Tout le monde aime Shanti

En Australie tous les jours, on peux voir des auto-stoppeurs sur les routes nationales, mais rarement sur les autoroutes.

Beaucoup d'entre eux sont très bien connus par les gens du pays et ils sont parfois très populaire.

Voici notre ami très bien habillé, M. Shanti qui voyage à travers les villes du nord-est de la Nouvelle-Galles du Sud.

Comment un routard peut repasser son costume si bien?

Voici deux clichés de lui, l'un près de Mullumbimby et le deuxième pris à la jolie petite ville de Bangalow dans la rue principale avec moi !

In the back-blocks of Australia most days you'll see hitch-hikers on the main roads but seldom on the freeways. 

Some of them are local personalities well-known by the locals. 

Here's our mate, Shanti hitching around the northeast triangle in New South Wales.

It's impressive to see his wonderfully pressed suits !   

Here he is on the road just out of Mullumbimby and the other avec moi in the main street of Bangalow.

The Mouth of our Greatest River

Après une très petite absence, et un très grand excuses, je suis de retour. 

A tous mes amis; je souhaite dire, "je vous ai manqué beaucoup!"

Australia's longest river, the Murray crawls 2500 km from the Australian Alps to South Australia, reaching its mouth at the ocean near Lake Alexandrina, the Coorong and Goolwa.

The Murray Mouth is a popular fishing, boating and four wheel driving spot.

La bouche du Murray

Né dans les Alpes australiennes, il draine la partie sud-est du pays et se jette dans l'océan Indien près d'Adélaïde. 

L'embouchure de la rivière Murray est un endroit populaire pour aller à la pêche, la navigation de plaisance, et pour conduire à quatre roues. 

Demain nous allons voir plus de c'endroit si plaisante.

La Statue d'Eric le Rédempteur

Croyez-vous que c'est là la statue d'Éric le Rédempteur à Rio de Janeiro ou la grenouille volante qui rentre vers son Paris bien-aimé ?
Peu importe ce que vous pensez.

Ici à Adelaïde nos coeurs sont lourds.
Éric est parti et notre merveilleux ami nous manque.
Merci d'avoir apporté votre rire français et votre amitié mon cher ami.
Un jour dans l'avenir, vous verrez un australien atterrir à Paris 9ème exactement comme ça.

Today our wonderful French friend spread his wings to return to his, (and everyone's) beloved Paris.
Consequently, the house is quiet; it has no more French echos of laughter, and of song.
But, Edith Piaf's, "L'Homme à la Moto" will sound in my ears on Monday as Eric scoots off to his office.

Thank you Eric, we had a ball, or was it just the best celebration of the century ?

A grand dinner at the posh William Creek Hotel

Situated 871 kilometres north of Adelaide, (and 14950 kilometres to the south east of Paris), lies the dry and beautiful metropolis of William Creek. Here one sees some hungry, Adelaide mouths, that popped-in from down south, simply to experience the fine cuisine - and tomato sauce in the mandatory squeezy bottle.

It is one of South Australia’s smallest townships (population average 16 people) and lies within the world’s largest pastoral station, Anna Creek, which at its peak was 34, 000 sq. km, almost half the size of Tasmania. The origins of the district date back to March 1863.

Oxygen is necessary for good health

From time to time it is necessary to refresh oneself and to take a deep breath.
Oxygen is required to make all the human organs function correctly, especially when one is at the mouth of Australia's longest river, the Murray River.
In Australia it is so important to ensure that one's stomach is not dominating in the photographer's eye and that is what we naturally strive for. Of course, the beer, is only for effect, naturellement !!!

As you will all know by now, Madame is ripping around the countryside and visiting old girlfriends and especially, her dear mother, Beverly, who lives in Queensland, the land of sun and fun.

Car vous saurez tous à ce moment, Madame Benaut vole autour de la campagne et rend visite à ses vieilles petites amies, et en particulier, sa chère mère, Beverly. Sa mère habite au Queensland, dans la terre où les rideaux se fanent au soleil.
Je vous souhaite un anniversaire très joyeux, chère Beverly, et vos chevilles sont identiques qu'une fille qui a seize ans.

In Australia, our friends live further away than in England, for example. Australia has an area of three million square miles, which is slightly larger than mainland USA.
When Madame visits Marie in Sydney, 1155 kilometres away, there are pussy cats to feed, and to make it easy for this humble male, Madame has left pages of instructions and gallons of cat food. With all these hungry cats, there is certainly no time left to mow the lawns and clean out the gutters. (And Lynn in Gloucestershire has been reminding me each night at feeding time!)

À la rupture de l'aube, les Australiens décident si plonger dans un océan, ou manger quelque chose.
Decisions need to be taken each morning in Australia. Whether to have a good time or go back to sleep. Possibly to get wet, or even not to.
Madame has got the decision-making process organized and this is one nice way to commence the hardships of the day.
