La Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer
At the port township of Palavas-les-Flots, the girls sought ice-creams and I sought a job.
La Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer (SNSM) looked like a good place to start and all I had to do was re-sit my boat driver's licence, learn technical French fluently and remember the sun was in the southern hemisphere !!
Perhaps a bit more salt water was called for.

he he what's the girl in the black and white t shirt saying? "Welllll...it was....about this big." ?
Well, errr, yes, Lynn.
The French are adroit at calculating size and the next day they exaggerate a little; unlike Australians who are never wont to such things.
Fishing is very popular in France; especially where one finds water !!!!

No slideshow on my blog yet! HA I am working on a Paris travel blog to go up maybe Friday if I can get the techno skills off "Paris" and focused on the computer again. Glad you are enjoying the photos I have posted so far.
Job? Oh yes, I was looking high and low for one myself. Just because I speak very little French with a southern accent shouldn't have kept me out of the job market really!!!
Your photos are wonderful!

Je connais Sète, un peu. J'ai visité cette ville il y a bien longtemps, mais le port, lui n'a pas changé.
Mmmm, you shine out as your true old self here, don't you? Your viennoiserie and ice-cream shots seem to be more about girls than about food, or am I mistaken? LOL
Sorry, the above comment was not by Peter but by Nathalie. You figure out the identity switch!!!
Ha! And I was thinking from the thumbnail on the portal: "Maybe they've been to Goolwa!"

Woah! That is one sexy lifeboat, Monsieur.
I shall have to photograph our local lifeboats next time I am down at the coast. Ours are chubbier and not so sleek as that one, but then we have the North Sea to contend with and that one can play in the Med.
Did the girls buy you that huge ice cream in the last shot?
