Ripper !! Another public holiday.
Although the Queen, (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor), was born on 21 April 1926,- in the Realms including Australia, the Queen's Official Birthday is celebrated in June and the second monday of the month is a public holiday.

On this day, His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales is permitted to sniff the glove of Her Majesty.

That must be one of the nicest photos I have seen of Her Majesty and of Prince Charles, both are smiling.

Her Majesty was born exactly one month after my father, but my father sadly is no longer with us.
Royalty must be a great preservative. Or perhaps it's just in line with statistics - women live longer than men.

Great photo anyway. I think Prince Charles ages rather well, I find him far more handsome than when he was younger.

But will he outlive his mother ?

Glennis and Lynn, perhaps you are Royalists ?
Elisabeth, sadly our fathers seldom outlive our mothers. It's sad to look back on those days in some ways.

Did you take the photo, M. Benaut? I don't find Charles handsome at all :-)))
