He still cries to me like a baby and like any surrogate mum, I feed him. I feed them mincemeat and grated cheese so they don't end up with a calcium deficiency. They also love the cat biscuits which have taurine in them, for good eyesight.

He is now as big and strong as Fatso (his father) which is why they can't get him to leave. At the moment we have 5 but there are babies in the nests. There are an increasing number of fat aussies these days or as M.B would say - those who've been eating their vegemite sandwiches. lol
Edna and Sir Les are best not mentioned in polite company.

On the subject of birds - I just came across this great piece in the book I'm reading:
(All credit to the author Martin Davies)
"Miss Martinez works down at the zoo. Her parrot's died and she wants it stuffed."
"The term is mounted. We only say 'stuffed' if we're trying to be crude."

I told you it was a good book.MmeBenauthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14365277537757094040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6633953637253928587.post-33853267793425804912008-04-23T23:31:00.000+09:302008-04-23T23:31:00.000+09:30What a beautiful bird. What species are the Fatso f...What a beautiful bird.
What species are the Fatso family, Monsieur?
I've searched my addled brain for the names of chubby Australians to name their kids after, but I'm shocked to discover I don't KNOW any chubby Aussies.
I suppose Edna and Sir Les would be the nearest I can get.divehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12938980502783421961noreply@blogger.com
